ReplyDeleteFabian Ima manipulated the community of Bameno for his own personal benefit. He helped a group to film in Bameno when he knew the community coordinator, Pentivo Baihua, would not be in the village. The Huaorani of Bameno did not receive any part of the profits made from said film: Ecuador Ein moderner Indianer. Furthermore, on the behalf of the photographer Peter Oxford, Mr. Ima gave a false check for the rights to photos taken in the community. Recently, Mr. Ima has tried arranging tours to Bameno without communicating or collaborating first with the community. The Huaorani of Bameno are still awaiting their share of the profits from photos taken by Mr. Oxford and from the film Ein moderner Indianer.
